Geez. This trip only has a few short weeks left. That is wild. The past couple days has brought me through Oregon and up to Washington. I stayed with a new friend in Jasper, Oregon with his family on their farm. Farm life (minus 60 sheep to herd) is beginning to look very attractive to me. Not sure what to do with that one! Get some goats in the city! Watch out Cambria!

After driving through the forest for 2 days to get to his house, my friend took me on a walk around his property, where we witnessed the clearcutting of Douglas Firs right on the next property. A big soul crushing.

They have 4 dwarf Nigerian goats, 2 of which were preggers. Totally adorable. They had 3 pigs as well. Also kind of adorable. My friends daughters loudly claimed to be "pig-eaters" and were totally comfortable talking about how they were going to eat the pig named Tinkerbell soon. I laughed and was glad they were being raised to have a relationship with their food.

This is my friend and his older daughter standing on a moss-covered rock. There was moss EVERYWHERE. After being in the high desert for almost a month, it's been quite a change to be in such a lush environment.

Um.... adorable!!!
I picked Dove up from the airport and we're heading to Whitefish, Montana to stay with some of her friends and go hiking. We stayed in Portland for a night and then in Spokane, WA for a night. I'm so glad to have her along for this leg of the trip. What a wonderful companion.
