I just re-read the first entry that I made into this blog, back in December of last year.  I was headed off on this 3-month adventure around the country, that ended up opening me up to a whole year of adventures and building new connections to myself and others.  I talked in that entry about how hard 2012 had been, how burnt out I was in Philly, and how although I loved it there, desperately needed out.  My first stop in January was visiting Horse & Sparrow in North Carolina.  Last week, I spent a few days with them again. We caught one another up on how the rest of the year went for us all,  ending with high-fives that it was such an awesome year for all three of us.  Actually, I don't think we literally high-fived, but that's how I wish it had gone down.

Sparrow has been enjoying Herbalism school. I wish I had pictures of some of the identification drawings she's made.  She's gonna be an herbalist rockstar. I want her in my bioregion at some point in life for longer than one week!

Horse went back to riding BMX bikes around the world.  Here's a video of him being totally badass.  Whoa.

So we went for a hike up one of the Smokey Mountains off of the Blue Ridge Pkwy. I forget the name of it. Shoot.
this is the view from the top

I have 2 weeks until I go back to Philly for an undefined amount of time.  A couple of my fellow Bees are gonna come stay with me at Cambria for a bit.  It will be lovely to introduce my two worlds to each other.  I hope they like each other.  :o)

The picture above is an amazing moment in my life.  I swore off of fishing when I was 4 years old after a traumatic moment that included dead fish being plopped in front of me on the dining room table with its eyes staring straight at me.  It also included me screaming a lot and eating only mashed potatoes for dinner.  No fish for me for a long long time.  But last week I was with a friend who planned a fishing trip for us, unbeknownst to me.  GULP.  So I went.  I did it.  I fished.  And I didn't catch anything.  Thank god.  But he did. He caught a Black Drum fish. And I even smiled for the picture.

But as of now, I am back on tour with Mandar. We are rockin it from Arkansas to southern Georgia. These next pics are from our little stop at the Childrens Library in Little Rock, AR.  Now... my question throughout the whole visit was "Why do only CHiLDReN get super fun, multi-colored, animal-infested libraries, while the "big kid libraries" are all grey, brown, straight-lined and steril?"  I wanted to stay in there for hours. It had a teaching kitchen, reading theater, greenhouse, pond, activity room, and so many nice people working there.  SO FUN.
