jack rabbit... Jan 28

Oh yeah, and yesterday amongst the volcanic rocks, a 2 ft tall jack rabbit bounded past us, winding through the rocks and bushes up the hill, and then disappeared. The wildest hare I have ever witnessed, it's body was tense with spry muscles.  I have never seen ears that big or standing that tall, pointed in the precise direction it needed to catch its information from.  Flopsy bunny's got nothin on the jack rabbit. Except maybe cuteness.  Jack rabbits are definitely wild animals, built to survive in high desert landscapes, not be fed an overabundance of cabbage and carrots inside a 3-ft wide cage its whole life. Cute for sure, but my goodness, I'd worry if this lil' guy ever tried to hop outside unprotected.  Domestication... it is a strange habit we've formed.
